Let Freedom ring!

I am thankful for the freedom that is ours here in the United States and in many other countries around the globe. But freedom isn’t free, is it?

freedom_by_the_seaIn countries where freedom reigns, it cost many lives to obtain that freedom and it will cost many more to maintain it, because freedom isn’t free. Someone has to pay the price so that others may live in the freedom that our hearts yearn for.

Jesus said that He came to set us free. That freedom that He offers us cost Him something to enable Him to get it to us. It cost Him everything.

But His desire was so strong toward us. His love so overwhelmingly big toward us, that He, without hesitation, gave everything He had in order that we might walk in the freedom that He has, freedom from sin, freedom from condemnation, freedom from bondage.

Today as you think about the freedoms that are ours, reflect on what it cost others to obtain it and be thankful, truly thankful. It is easy to forget. Let us not be among those who do. Remember the sacrifice as you celebrate the freedom… And Rejoice.

Determine that you will never walk in bondage again. Freedom is yours!!

Luke 4:18

  • New International Version
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free
