Today’s journey with God is not so much about a great abundance of knowledge as much as it is about a surrendering of your will to that knowledge.
It is not enough to know that we are to guard our hearts with all diligence. It is imperative that we walk this out daily, making very certain that we stand against thoughts and influences that would draw our hearts away. And it takes a moment by moment commitment to do the hard thing when it arises.
It is not enough to know that we should speak the truth in love. We must walk it out even when we are agitated or downright angry with what we might choose to call “holy anger”. Has there been a word released today that you wish you hadn’t released? Heartbreaking isn’t it?
We must put on Christ and go on the offensive to ward off the ugly arrows and temptations and circumstances that will arise. It cannot be enough to just be on the defensive. If this is our mode of attack and protection we will always be one step behind what the enemy is up to, trying to dodge his bullets.
No my friend. God has called us to battle. We are the ones with the bullet proof armor of God. We are the ones with the unfailing Word of God as our mighty sword. We are the ones to take authority. And we must do it in allegiance and complete surrender to our King… Jesus.
Surrender to Him. And as you do you will realize that you are not in surrender or defeat mode, but that you are, in reality, in warrior mode… conqueror mode, fully armed and dangerous to the enemy’s falling kingdom of darkness.
Go for it. Surrender to God and His ways and march in victory every single moment of every single day. And let it begin today. It is who you were created to be… Mighty Warrior of the King!
But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten.
The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
11Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
12For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
13Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
14Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,
15And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.
16Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].
17And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.
